Case Study: Benton & Sons Fabrication

As an example of our industrial B2B website design service, we are pleased to present this case study of our partnership with Benton & Sons Fabrication, near Goldsboro, North Carolina. First working with them in 2010 to redesign their original 2001 website, we continued, over the following years, to add updates to their website. In 2018, we launched a new generation industrial B2B website design for Benton & Sons that should also last them another 8-10 years and be a great launching pad for SEO programs and digital marketing to the industrial marketplace, as well as provide them with significant ROI.

Way back in 2001, Benton & Sons Fabrication had a 1st generation “website” created for them. (See the before & after 2001 to 2008 images below.) At a time when most industrial marketing was still done in the big green Thomas Register directories and Thomas Regional print directories, this family owned, steel fabrication company, was well ahead of their time.

But then the years rolled by, the internet grew by leaps and bounds, and Benton’s website never changed. It was actually an incredible injustice to who they were. It made them seem like a small operation out of a garage; small, old and with few capabilities. Their website became more of a liability than an asset to Benton & Sons.

In 2010, we worked with Benton & Sons to turn that around. We built a new, custom designed website from scratch that....

1. Created 3 unique, custom designs for Benton & Sons to choose from.
2. Created an awesome new logo.
3. Visually featured the incredible steel fabrication projects that they regularly manufacture in their large facility.
4. Demonstrated various fabrication and assembly projects they do for a variety of industries.
5. Detailed how they were one of the most capable steel fabricators in the mid-Atlantic and Southeast.
6. Made it easy to contact them!

Benton & Sons Fabrication  could no longer be viewed as a small, old, dying company, which they clearly were not! When Baer Web Design would show Benton’s new website to other companies we dealt with, many of them mentioned that while they had heard of Benton & Sons Fabrication, they had no idea how big and how capable they were until they saw the new website! Benton & Sons had a story that wasn’t being told. We fixed that for them!

In 2013, we did additional upgrades to to extend the life of the new website in a rapidly changing internet environment.

• We created a parallel mobile site for Benton & Sons that was made specifically for smaller screens on smart phones and tablets.
