Dramatic Changes to NC Industry Since 1990
Having worked with Raleigh area companies since 2002, we have seen the B2B industrial market change dramatically here in North Caroina (Changing Face of North Carolina Economy). Twenty years ago, small and mid-size industrial companies in Raleigh and throughout North Carolina were struggling tremendously and often failing. The industrial markets they had served for so long were facing great economic pressures. Furniture manufacturing, for example, was moving away, and every company that provided parts, components, supplies and services to the furniture manufacturing sector was badly effected. Tobacco growing, processing and related manufacturing and services were also severely effected by trends in society and government action to that effect. And low tech textile mills and clothing manufacturing moved overseas.
Small NC companies struggled with the need to find new methods and new markets. Advanced manufacturing was sweeping away older operations that weren't keeping pace with technological change. The steps of the sales cycle became shuffled and confusing as the very nature of sales and marketing was rapidly changing. A company's online presence became the new front door to their business and their online message became the new sales pitch, without the chance to even talk to prospects until they had already checked out you and your competitors online.
The New B2B Industrial Market in North Carolina
And finally, in the last 5-10 years, new, vibrant and high tech small manufacturing companies have arisen, with great opportunities reaching out to a wider variety of customers located in North Carolina and beyond. Major new industries, needing new local and regional supply chains, saturated North Carolina in the past few decades. These new and growing North Carolina industries included
- Biological & pharmaceutical research and manufacturing corporations
- Automotive, truck & heavy machinery manufacturing companies
- Aerospace & defense services, supplies and manufacturing companies
- New energy such as wind power generation and solar power companies
- Higher tech furniture manufacturing plants
- Advanced textile research and manufacturing companies
These new industries have brought great new opportunities to young agile and aggressive new companies who supply them. B2B industrial website design, SEO and website security have become essential to your success.

GEO-SEO Pages + Mini-Blog Updates for Home Contractor Service Company
Built four GEO-SEO pages for a Raleigh area company that needed local search engine optimization (SEO) for their new trash bin cleaning company. Created a custom form for their service providers to report brief information about some of their service visits so we can do mini-blog updates on each GEO-SEO page with that information. Every mini-blog update is highly search engine optimzed using Schema markup for improved search engine crawling and indexing.
Local Search Engine Optimization for Commercial Industrial HVAC Repair Company
Built a GEO-SEO highly targeted geographic page for a commercial and industrial HVAC contractor to help them get anchored and rise in local search results. A handful of GEO-SEO pages can help search engine performance in any area where they want to be found. The GEO-SEO pages perform even better with ongoing updates from our Mini-Blog service. (For example, what you're reading here is a mini-blog update)
Website Evaluation for CNC Machine Shop in North Carolina
Provided a free website evaluation by video conference for a CNC machine shop in the Greensboro area of North Carlolina. We helped them understand what was working well, what needed improvment on their website, and how SEO works. Showed them how certain website features were dragging them down and could be fixed.
Live Sync SpreadSheet to WordPress Website
Worked with a Wisconsin manufacturer to keep their spreadsheet data synced with data tables displayed on their website. Whether your data needs periodic updates for prices, quantities, part numbers, options, or any data that you might share with potential clients, you can update your spreadsheet and the assigned table on your website will instantly and automatically sync.
Automated Visual Comparison Testing after Plugin Updates
WordPress Plugin Updates & QA Testing with VRT
VRT, or visual regression testing, is the best way to detect visual layout errors on your WordPress website following backend updates to a WordPress website. Automated VRT compares before and after screenshots to see if there are any discrepancies after updating WordPress plugins, themes and the WordPress engine.
In this example, the before and after screenshots clearly show a discrepancy and clearly something went wrong during this update. Automated visual regression testing helps find these errors quickly and much more easily than trying to manually look at all of your website pages. For this particular Wisconsin company, VRT helped this layout error get found and fixed quickly!
WordPress Security - Pingbacks
WordPress Security - Disabling Pingbacks
Fixed website security vulnerability for Wisconsin manufacturing companies following a weekly security bulletin that indicated a widespread WordPress security vulnerability. The report showed "an unauthenticated blind SSRF in the pingback feature... To exploit this vulnerability, an attacker would utilize WordPress pingbacks... in combination with other vulnerabilities."
Our WordPress website security fix included disabling pingbacks for all existing website blog posts and for all future blog posts. Additionally, we updated all WordPress plugins to their most recent versions as part of our regular monthly site management plans to provide even more security against this threat.

Created Photo Montage for Top of Page Banner Image
Banner images stretch across the entire width at the top of a page. It's often hard to capture a good-quality image of such great width unless you're having a professional photographer take your shots. But we frequently use the images our clients have available that they've taken themselves. With a little bit of creativity and editing, we create awesome photo montages for their banner images. Check out the photo montage banner images on a new website for Elite Metal Polishing. They serve customers from Wisconsin to Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and more.
